MIXED WASTE

Bulky, Commercial & Municipal Waste

Reduce assessed bulky waste, commercial waste and variable municipal waste streams on an interchangeable-shaft platform that can be reconfigured around the feed.

01

The operational challenge

Bulky and commercial waste streams change by load. Large items, films, textiles, fines and hidden contaminants make stable feed and protection of downstream plant as important as nominal throughput.

02

How twin-shaft shredding addresses it

Slow twin shafts provide controlled reduction rather than high-speed impact. Star or combination shafts can be selected around draw-in, tearing action and the desired downstream preparation.

LIKELY CONFIGURATION DISCUSSION

Start with shafts, counter tools and the screen.

Shafts

  • Star shaft
  • Combination shaft
  • Waste shaft

Tooling

  • Waste breaker bars
  • Counter rake
  • Screen basket where required by the downstream process

These are starting points for assessment, not a final specification.

MATERIAL & PROCESS EVIDENCE

Connect the feed evidence to the cutting system and required discharge.

Official imagery and footage provide context; a representative demonstration should document the actual input condition and the output required by the next process.

MATERIAL-SPECIFIC WERT FOOTAGE

Watch the process before specifying it.

Use the footage to compare feed shape, loading, chamber behaviour and visible discharge. It is evidence for discussion, not a throughput guarantee.

AVERAGE STATED THROUGHPUT

Benchmark the discussion carefully.

Manufacturer-stated average throughput
MaterialAverage stated range
Mixed cardboard, plastic film and packaging wasteCommercial wasteapproximately 18–25 tonnes per hour

Performance qualification. Performance figures are manufacturer-stated averages and are not guaranteed. Actual throughput will vary according to material, shaft configuration, screen-basket settings, material feed and operating conditions.

PERFORMANCE VARIABLES

What will change the result.

MODEL CONSIDERATIONS

Power is part of the decision, not the whole decision.

The right configuration depends on the worst credible feed, not only a typical load. A material trial should include representative variability.

MAINTENANCE CONSIDERATIONS

Plan around the actual wear mechanism.

Inspect the chamber for wrapped material and trapped contaminants. Build cleaning access and wear checks into shift planning rather than waiting for output quality to fall.

APPLICATION FAQ

Questions to settle before specification.

01Can the PHANTOM process bulky and commercial waste?

Yes, bulky and commercial waste are core application conversations for WERT UK. Final suitability still depends on representative material dimensions, contaminants, volume, required output and the assessed shaft and screen configuration.

02Can one machine handle changing waste streams?

Interchangeable shafts are intended to make reconfiguration possible, but each stream still needs an assessed shaft, tooling and screen set-up.

03Is 18–25 t/h guaranteed?

No. It is the current manufacturer-stated average range for commercial waste under suitable conditions.
